Are Your Virtual Tours Really Virtual Tours?

While some real estate professionals insist that virtual tours must include a 360-degree panorama image or slide-shows of still images, experts say it is more important to determine the purpose of the virtual tour.

Agents generally create virtual tours to boost exposure, ensure a speedy sale, reach out to long-distance buyers, showcase their marketing skills, improve branding, show buyers more of the property, and satisfy and impress sellers. However, a 360-degree panorama is not necessary to meet these goals.

Instead, real estate practitioners should understand that "virtual tour" can mean a multitude of video and photographic media and that they have numerous options at their fingertips to meet clients' needs. Agents should choose a virtual tour provider that offers a variety of tools, including downloadable e-flyers, syndication, and high-resolution images.
