Rising in the village of Bemposta, in the municipality of Mogadouro, in the heart of the Douro International Natural Park, the Solar dos Marcos stands with 1,200 m² of total area, a stone-built memory carrying a noble heritage deeply rooted in the Trás-os-Montes landscape. Resulting from the adaptation and expansion of an old manor house from the first half of the 18th century, it was once the residence of D. Manuel Martins-Manso, Bishop of Guarda. Classified as a Building of Relevant Architectural Value since April 4, 1996, it preserves the formal solemnity of the noble houses of the late 17th and 18th centuries, evident in the main façade, in the heraldic coat of arms of the Martins-Manso family, and in the presence of the private chapel. The manor house, restored and updated, now responds in harmony with modern times, without denying the value that History has bestowed upon it. It has nine bedrooms and fifteen beds, with a total capacity for twenty guests. Each room constitutes an intimate space, equipped with a private bathroom, central heating, air conditioning and an individual balcony overlooking the gardens. The spatial organization echoes the original noble grandeur: on the ground floor are the large entrance hall, reception, management office, chapel, bathrooms, fully equipped kitchen, pantries, laundry room, changing room, a large garage and an elevator. The first floor includes two dining rooms — one with a balcony and another with a fireplace with heat recovery system — a pantry, bar, living room with access to the terrace, and four double bedrooms with bathrooms. The second floor accommodates four additional double bedrooms and a noble suite, all with private bathrooms and balconies, complemented by additional resting areas. Crowned on the property is an independent annex, a refuge composed of a two-bedroom apartment with two bathrooms, living room and kitchen. Outside, the garden and swimming pool invite contemplative rest and immersion in the Douro Valley. The property is located about ten minutes from the Douro River and the border with Spain, and twenty-five minutes from Miranda do Douro, benefiting from an elevated position that offers wide views over the valley and the Spanish provinces of Zamora and Salamanca. Bemposta, formerly a town and municipal seat until the 18th century, granted charters by D. Dinis and D. Manuel, preserves a deep connection to the territory and its historical memory.
