The Montargil Dam belongs to the Tagus River basin and is located on the Sor River. It was designed in 1954 and completed in 1958. Currently, it is owned by the Association of Irrigators and Beneficiaries of the Sorraia Valley and feeds the Sorraia Canal. It has a capacity of 164.3 hm³ and its flooded area is 1646 hectares.
